New Gloucester Planning Board

The Town of New Gloucester has contracted with The Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) for Planning Services.  Below are the names and hours they will be in the Town Office to assist potential and ongoing applicants:

Every Tuesday: 1:00-5:00 (Christian Roadman)

Every Wednesday: 10:00-2:00 (Shukria Wiar)

Mission Statement:
 
The New Gloucester Planning Board,  a seven member board of volunteer citizens, will exercise their statutory powers in a manner that is careful and concerned.  While conforming with the laws of the State of Maine and New Gloucester land use ordinances and regulations, every applicant can expect reasonable application completeness requirements, a fair and impartial hearing, timely decisions and respectful treatment before the Board. 

 

In addition to reviewing  subdivision and site plan applications, the New Gloucester Planning Board reviews and recommends changes to land use ordinance and land use planning while implementing and promoting the Comprehensive Plan.  

 
Meetings: 
The Planning Board meets regularly on the 1st Tuesday every month  and as needed on the 3rd Tuesday in the New Gloucester Meeting House located at 389 Intervale Road. Check the municipal calendar to confirm meeting dates which do occasionally change due to holidays or quorum conflicts. Board meetings are open to the public - we encourage you to attend.
